Should it be OK for preschool children to accompany their parents at a public library computer?

Or does cooing, bubble blowing, garrulous questions to Mom (or Dad), fidgeting, whining and saying hello to everyone not disturb other public library patrons?

Heck NO!!!! I hate that.

Babies & toddlers belong at home. Children should only be allowed in libraries, restaurants, and stores when they can behave quietly, like little ladies & gentlemen.

The world is not their playground, nor is every "public place" a substitute for Chucky Cheese.

And, contrary to what someone else wrote, libraries should be quiet places where people can think, read and work without disturbance.

A library is a public place, and children are part of the public. It is the responsibility of the parent to control the child’s behavior and leave if it gets out of hand, but intermittent low-level noise is acceptable. Contrary to popular belief, libraries don’t need to be silent, but if a kid is really behaving poorly (incessant whining, loud noises) and the parent doesn’t seem to care, I think it’s okay to complain.

If this happens you need to go to the librarian and have the rug rats removed to the children’s section, no one should have to put up with brats in the library.

Library computers should be used solo because of noise and space issues. An infant strapped, sleeping in a stroller may not disturb people but you can’t walk by them. Two amorous teens looking at porn, off in their own world, ought to be in their own room. A gang of guys watching a WWE video on YouTube can disturb a whole building and what the heck are they doing holding a party in a library, anyway?

Some people just don’t realize their impact and many who do think it’s a game to be tossed out of libraries.
