Hi! I am trying to pursue a master’s in library science and am having a hard time finding a good program online. I am not interested in U of Phoenix or any other online college in that category. These colleges are often not "respected," so they will be a waste of time and money. I am looking for an accredited college that offers this program online and does not charge in-state tuition (unless it is VA). If you have any beneficial information, I will be very grateful!
I advise you not to choose online. In most cases, people hiring a librarian want to hire someone who has experience dealing with people. Dealing with computers, chat, and text messaging s*h*o*u*l*d be secondary. But then, maybe you have a rich life experience and this is a second career?
In either case visit http://www.vla.org/educ-support.html
I also read that "The University of North Texas is actually quite a popular choice (for online study). Texas Woman’s University also has an online program."
Both of those are on the Virginia educational support list on the above link.
