What is the MAIN function of a library?

The library provides reading material, mainly books, but also reference books, newspapers, magazines, journals, maps, internet service, videos and other types of information media for FREE to the public/cardholders.

Some materials have to stay on library premises and others can be loaned (for free) for a designated period of time.

  1. Nina says:

The main function of any library is to serve its users. I.E. a public library serves the public (taxpayers) while a university library serves the students, faculty, and staff affiliated with the university.

If you elaborate a bit more on your question, you might get a better answer.
