How do I catalogue and organise a small library?

I’ve been asked to help organise and catalogue a small library. It’s a monastic library so most but not all of the books would be on spirituality.
What would be the best method, electronic or written and what and how in each case.

You might want to take a look at www.librarything.com. It’s an easy (and free!) site that allows you to catalog small, personal collections. And a heck of a lot easier than going to the Library of Congress’ site and looking up your collection’s MARC (MAchine Readable Cataloging) records!

Us software like Ms Office ……Access.
Electronic system can track and search much faster. If you are seraching among thousands of books. Bar code system will be very better but it is going to cost you more.
