Is there a way to see my local library’s books and stuff on MY computer without buying software or spending?

I want to go to the library but never have time. I want a way so I can look at the checked out or in or every book at my library at my house without paying or getting software, can I?

Yes. Depends on the library. If you live in a small town, it’s unlikely that your library has an online catalog. But if it’s a big city library, it very likely is online. Most city libraries are online now. And I’m sure nearly all college and university libraries are. You don’t need any extra software, just use your browser. My local city library and nearby university library are both online. Works fine.

This really is a question for your library. Call them. In order to reserve books or look at the books you have, you’ll have to have an account there, but this usually involves nothing more than your library card number as your username. You may be able to browse the catalog without an account, but what’s the point if you can’t check out the book?

Most libraries have an online catalog where you can see *what* books your library owns. Some of those books are possibly Ebooks (electronic books) which can be read from home. If you put the name of your local library in a search engine, and probably the city & state, you should get a link to their catalog. Or look them up in their phone book and call the Reference or Information desk.

However, it sounds as if you want to *read* an electronic copy of every print book the library owns. That is not possible because the library owns print copies, not electronic copies, and the staff time to scan those in, not to mention the copyright issues, make that prohibitive.

Give your local library a call or stop by their website and see how they can help you. Good Luck!
