If I have all of my music on my itunes software and in that library will i have to buy only ipods?

For the rest of my life? I know itunes converts the files from, say wma’s to aac’s….all my music is in that library (the itunes) because i consolidated–what if I want to buy a Zune or Creative Zen? Will I still be able to play the songs?

Yes, if you go into your itunes music folder and copy everything to "My Music" it will then be directly uploaded into Windows Media Player which can sync to a Zune or Creative Zen.

If they’re not protected, you’ll be able to put them on any device you like.

No. That restriction applies only to songs purchased from the iTunes Store, not those you’ve transferred yourself from CDs etc.

All of your music is stored as files within your iTunes folder, and you’ll be able to transfer them from that folder to whatever music player you buy.

If the music is stored as AAC files, you’ll need a player that supports AACs, but the latest models of both the Zune and the Zen can handle this format just fine.
