I checked out 2 library books when I was 12 and I lost them, and I never paid for them. 14 years later, I want to re-join my local library. Will they want me to pay for these lost books (I do plan on paying for them)? Will they refuse my application because of them? Any information will be helpful.
You’ll probably have to pay at least something, if they still have it documented, which I can’t say for sure. But it depends on the library’s policies for how much you’ll have to pay.
Will I have to pay for library books that have been lost for 14 years?

yes and it wont be pretty, unless you just buy them without the rent cost

Maybe you should LOOK AFTER other people’s property, then you wouldn’t have this problem in the first place.
But, yes, I’d imagine you would have to pay.
