In my experience with a university library, I had to pay the fines, and they would not reimburse me, so I kept the books. I learned the hard way!

sometimes depends on how many copies they have. They might let you replace it with a used book. Or they may want you to pay for it. Talk to the head librarian.

you just pay the book. and no, they wont so you might as well keep them

Pay for the books before you start to rack up a huge fine. If you find them later, you can ask for a refund, or just return them.

you need to go and tell them now. it'll cost less. it just depends on the library policy.

You could just pay for the books, that might be less outrageous than the fine!
