What happens if you lose 2 library books?

Do you pay an outrageous fine? And if you find them later, will they reimburse you?

sometimes depends on how many copies they have. They might let you replace it with a used book. Or they may want you to pay for it. Talk to the head librarian.

You could just pay for the books, that might be less outrageous than the fine!

Pay for the books you lost. If you happen to find them later ask if they’ll give you a refund.

Pay for the books before you start to rack up a huge fine. If you find them later, you can ask for a refund, or just return them.

In my experience with a university library, I had to pay the fines, and they would not reimburse me, so I kept the books. I learned the hard way!
