If they’re deported, all their materials will be lost. Moreover, some illegals have sudden problems and they have to leave immediately and may not return the stuff.
But Collegs and Libraries dont’ care at all.

Hey, tax payers pay for everything else for them illegals, might as well charge us for the stolen merchandise as well.

Well first to the above answer illegals aren’t criminals because they come here illegal. Yeah they broke the law, however, they come here because their country sucks and they need to feed their families, to me that is not a crime. you do what you have to do for your family even if it means risking your life to cross the border into a country that hates you and doesn’t want you here. which is what they have to do unfortunately. You would do the same if you were in their situation so i wouldn’t judge too much. The whole situation is sad, especially watching them work way harder than most americans. key word being most not all.
to actually answer the question haha, i suppose they cant refuse people books and if im not mistaken you don’t need much identification to get a library card, i know i didn’t, so they probably don’t know their illegal in the first place. But im sure if it became that big of a problem, which it doesnt seem it is, then they will probably change the whole process of getting a library card
