California Wine Club – Do you have a favorite type of wine? Most people do, to a certain extent at least. I think for myself I could not say that “this varietal” or “that varietal” is my favorite. Rather I would be more comfortable saying that I prefer certain wines at certain times with certain foods. There is no wine that I would explicitly say is better than another. Now certainly there are some wine regions that are better than others for making specific types of wines … Say a French burgundy versus a California burgundy (pinot) … there really is no comparison that the French is superior.
