I’m thinking of maybe working at the public library but was kind of scared of being bored out of my mind there. What do you do when working at a public library? Do you restock books all day long or sit at a desk and do nothing?

Go work at a University or Community College Library they’re fun – young people to talk with and meet all the time. I worked at a University library for 3 years, it was loads of fun. Mainly because all of us were the same age and we had access to all the media material in the library and it was a great opportunity to meet people.

Public library can be fun, depends on which city though. My neighbor worked front desk circulation at a public library in Hawaii for 5 years. 3 days a week she drove the "Bookmobile" which was the library on wheels that went out to the low income areas so kids had access to books. She loved it – her peers were all in their early 20’s too so it really depends on which public library you’re going to. You’ll do cataloging, reshelving, linking books, customer service, or story telling/event planning for the various monthly events that go on at your particular library.

Why is the librarian letting this perv look at porn???

Librarians are staunch keepers of our First Amendment right of Freedom of Speech, which includes the right to read or look at porn as long as the viewer is of legal age and the media in question is legal in your state.

You *found* a credit card and now you want to fraudently use it? Do you like cold concrete floors and cellies named Bubba? How about those communal showers in the penitentiary? LOL What is a MEM? I guess if you are of low character and moral fiber and want to risk some jail time, use the card or try to figure a way to. If you have any conscience, give it to the library lady and tell her you found it. I am sure the owner of that card has already cancelled it anyways. I still don’t know what on earth a "mems" is…

If at all possible, do not write in the book at all, even with something erasable. If you do erase your highlighting, it is possible that you may start to erase the type of the book.

Unless you do a very good job of erasing your highlighting, they may consider the book damaged. Looking on the list of people who borrowed it, they may decide that you are to blame, and fine you.
