Some pervert keeps looking at porn sites at the public library?

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

I don’t have internet access at home so I go to the public library to use the Internet. Almost everytime I log in some weird looking guy is always looking at porn sites and when I told the librarian she said there is nothing she can do?

Why is the librarian letting this perv look at porn???

Librarians are staunch keepers of our First Amendment right of Freedom of Speech, which includes the right to read or look at porn as long as the viewer is of legal age and the media in question is legal in your state.

Would they have the movie The Shining at a public library?

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I want to watch it!! :] The old one from 1980. Do you think a public library would have it?

It’s very possible . Your state library system should have a website where you can search for whatever you want. If the one closest to you doesen’t have it, but another one does, in most cases you can put it on hold and have it sent to your library.

could i use a credit card in a public library?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Hi i found a credit card and i was wondering, do i need a pin to use for things like getting back at mems, my cus used his card but did not tell me how he did it so can i use a credit card to access mems again in a public library?

You *found* a credit card and now you want to fraudently use it? Do you like cold concrete floors and cellies named Bubba? How about those communal showers in the penitentiary? LOL What is a MEM? I guess if you are of low character and moral fiber and want to risk some jail time, use the card or try to figure a way to. If you have any conscience, give it to the library lady and tell her you found it. I am sure the owner of that card has already cancelled it anyways. I still don’t know what on earth a "mems" is…

Have anyone been to Yorba Linda Public Library or have been to a library and borrowed a book?If so, pls help?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Well, I borrowed a book from the Public Library, and since I need the book for exam’s, I highlight the book but only with an erasable crayon.
When I retern the book, will they still check the pages?
Will I get fined for damaging the book?

Its just my first time to borrow a book from the library,so I dont know the rules and regulations.

PLS. HELP…THANKS GUYS!

If at all possible, do not write in the book at all, even with something erasable. If you do erase your highlighting, it is possible that you may start to erase the type of the book.

Unless you do a very good job of erasing your highlighting, they may consider the book damaged. Looking on the list of people who borrowed it, they may decide that you are to blame, and fine you.

can you borrow movies from a public library if you owe nyc public library money?

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

was wondering. if i owe NYC public library about 11 dollars, can i still borrow movies?

I’m not entirely sure what NYC’s policy is on fees, but at the public library where I work patrons can check out material as long as their fines are below $10. I imagine NYC has a similar policy, likely at a similar fine limit. Give the library a call and they’ll let you know.

Looking for public library ebooks – not classic like world library – more like new york library?

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

I’m trying to find a more reasonable public library for ebooks. New York library has ebooks I like but I live in Alabama and the cost would be 100.00 per year for a card – know any other web sites?
