I heard on a news channel something about online libraries ? do they exist how do they work ? I also heard something about Google trying to create the biggest online Library.
I am talking about free online libraries where i suppose you must be able to download the Book, or whatever material you want

I dont really get it but do you mean that you can use computers in the libary if you do ya you can. But if you mean you can shop for books on a online libary ya you can.

I don’t know about an online library, but if you are looking for spesific books to read online then you can search for specific titles at a site called Diesel-ebooks. They’ve got a lot of titles over various genres.

Please Help I’ve posted this question twice already and haven’t gotten any useful answers please help me out. I need a online library that lets you read books for free or at least really cheap .I’m looking for a specific book, Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix. Any direct links would be great. No. There are a lot of sites where you can read, for free, books that are in the public domain, but you won’t find any Harry Potter books there. J K Rowling holds the copyright and is still making money on them!

Why don’t you go to your local library; if it isn’t there, you can order it for free. Failing that, many of the big bookshops are selling the older Harry Potter books at reduced rates now that the excitement has worn off and everyone has their copy!

Is there such a thing as an online library where I can read full books online?
It is an academic library, as I am studying.

However if you’re talking about a university library all the publishers are online these days, but you need an academic account to get access or pay for an account yourself.

Contact the librarian where you’re studying and find out how you can do it. All academic institutions now have their library resources online. Many publishers prefer online research and you will often find entire books online for research as well protected by DRM

I like reading and am always spotting books I want to read but I can’t afford to buy them all and my local library is rubbish, it hardly has any books at all! Does anyone know if there is a website you can rent books from? I would be happy to pay a small charge for such a service.
I tried bookmeabook.com, it’s based in India lol!!

I rent books. The selection in my library is crap as well, and what is available for free online are mostly books in the public domain, nothing recent from my favorite authors.

There are others though i.e. Paperspine and Bookswim. Booksfree is a bit cheaper than those two (though they increased the rates recently).

Project Gutenberg hold a large library of classic literature.

Google Books offers several books, even some modern pieces online for free, or parts of the books.

There are free ebooks on manybooks.net that can be downloaded onto iPods and iPhones (This site is down at the moment but has several thousand titles available.)

e-library is a very large collection of titles, but they are not free.

Scroll Motion’s Iceberg for iPhone just launched with over a million titles,some as low as 99 cents.
